In accordance with AB 2761, this page lists information about our in-custody deaths. Unless otherwise noted, these deaths have occurred in the Main Adult Detention Facility, which is the jail located in Sonoma County and run by the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.

  • On January 7, 2024, a 53 year old white woman from Rohnert Park died in Sutter Hospital in Sacramento. He was awaiting trial. Her cause of death was complications from leukemia and manner of death was natural.

  • On September 12, 2023, a 58 year old white man from Santa Rosa died in Kaiser Hospital in Redwood City. He was released from custody on September 6 and transported to a hospital after suffering a medical emergency while in custody. The death investigation is being conducted by the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office. The cause and manner of death will be posted when available.

  • On September 11, 2023, a 33 year old white man from Occidental died in the Male Special Module. He was awaiting trial. The death investigation is being conducted by the Marin County Coroner’s Office. The cause and manner of death will be posted when available.
